Charles Hoskinson is one of the co-founders of Ethereum, which is a decentralized platform that runs smart contracts, applications that run exactly as programmed without any possibility of downtime, censorship, fraud or third party interference. He is also the founder of Cardano ADA.
Hoskinson studied at Metropolitan State University of Denver for two years before he dropped out to pursue an entrepreneurial path. He first worked with a software company called Blackwave Inc, focusing on custom content online and local marketing.
Hoskinson is now the CEO of Input Output HK, which he founded with colleague Jeremy Wood after they left Ethereum. He is also a founding board member of the Bitcoin Education Project, CEO at ePort and founder and chairman at IOHK (Input Output Hong Kong). He is the current founder of the proof of stake network Cardano.
Hoskinson is known for developing the concept of collaborative organizations and has written extensively about cryptocurrency.
Hoskinson has pursued several diverse business ventures since he graduated from college in 1993, including an online media company called BitBeat which was focused on bitcoin news. He also co-founded Invictus Innovations Incorporated with Dan Larimer, an open source crypto platform company that created the blockchain-based decentralized exchange Bitshares.
Hoskinson has published many articles on the creation of cryptocurrencies and is one of the foremost thought leaders in America. When he studied at Metropolitan State University of Denver, he was initially interested in computer science before deciding to switch majors to economics. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in 1998. Hoskinson also holds an MBA from the University College London and an MA degree, also from UCL.
